The Student Club The students at DCDP have the use of their own club in the evenings and at weekends. The college encourages students to get involved in the Sports and Social Committee who then work with Learner Services to organise events in the club. Activities vary from visiting Alton Towers to Climbing in the Peak District. All students are encouraged to come with suggestions of what they want to do and if it is possible the staff will help to organise the activity. Students friends can visit during the evening hours. The Club is open at:
The Sports Hall The college has the use of a fully equipped sports hall that is open each evening and at weekends. Football is the most popular but we have the use of all the equipment in the hall. Football Pitch In the evenings and at the weekends we have a outside football pitch that can be used for training and staging friendly matches against local football clubs. Individual Rooms The majority of the students will have their own rooms. It is the students responsibility to keep the rooms tidy but they are allowed to put up posters and bring familiar items from home. Shared bathroom facilities. (Large, expensive items such as computers, mobile phones, CD players or televisions are not covered by our insurance. Extra cover on your home insurance will be needed if a student wants to bring these items to the college). Each house has it's own kitchen that is used to cook individual or group meals. Meals are prepared with the help of the support care worker depending on the student's individual cooking skills. Students are encouraged to have a balanced diet.
