Each student who joins Derby College for Deaf People will study at a local mainstream college.

Our aim is to provide deaf students with the same educational opportunities enjoyed by all young people. On campus at DCDP students are encouraged to become part of the shared Deaf Community, meeting students from various parts of Great Britain and other countries around the world.

In addition to this, integration into local colleges provides experience of a larger, hearing community. To ensure deaf students have full access to the college environment, DCDP provides a comprehensive communication service.

This is adapted to meet the needs of each individual student and includes a wide range of support strategies.
